Farm Disinfectants
Biosecurity is a combination of practices designed to minimise the risk of introduction to or spread of pathogenic agents in an environment where animals are managed. The goal should be to identify all the possible hazards and routes of entry and having procedures in place to address them. It is also important to have processes for cleaning and disinfecting structures and equipment to reduce the load of infectious organisms such as viruses, bacteria and fungi which can cause disease.
Chemical disinfection is the process of using chemical agents to inactivate or destroy infectious agents capable of causing infection.
In general, disinfection should accompany good cleaning of the areas or surfaces to be disinfected because organic matter can interfere with or even inactivate some disinfectants. When choosing a disinfectant factors to consider are its spectrum of activity against the important pathogens, its suitability for the application (e.g. use on porous surfaces, corrosiveness) and ease of use
Terminator® is a highly effective all-purpose disinfectant and cleaner, for use on all surfaces in animal and bird premises. Terminator® contains an active aldehyde, glutaraldehyde and a cationic surfactant, quarternary ammonium chloride. It will destroy all disease causing organisms, including viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, yeasts and spores, making it ideal for routine disinfection of floors, wall and ceilings of livestock pens, stables and poultry houses.
Terminator® is non-staining and non-corrosive, making it a convenient disinfectant. The liquid formulation makes it easy to dilute. Terminator® is suitable for surface disinfection and offers excellent residual activity of 5 - 7 days. The exceptional efficacy will leave you feeling confident that surfaces have been disinfected properly.
